Blood-C and K Season 1 the latest additions to the Anime Ltd. Catalogue

1 month ago 15

Today we’re excited to announce two new additions (well, three technically, but we’ll get to that in a few moments) to the Anime Limited / All The Anime catalogue of titles.

First of all, from Production I.G, their collaboration with CLAMP back in 2011, Blood-C and the theatrical follow-up film from a year later, Blood-C: The Last Dark.

And, after being out-of-print in the UK for a very long time, the first season of ‘K’ (aka, the ‘K Project’).

These will be receiving UK home video releases from us tentatively scheduled for later this year (2020) – with some very early stage initial details further below in this post – and additionally we can also confirm that starting today (21st September 2020) you can stream both the Blood C TV series and K Season 1 on Amazon Prime!

Read on below for more information.

BLOOD-C (TV series) and
Blood-C: The Last Dark (Film)

A creative collaboration between Production I.G (Ghost In The Shell, Blood: The Last Vampire) and the all-female artist group, CLAMP (Magic Knight Rayearth, Cardcaptor Sakura, Angelic Layer), these two works will be released together in a special Collector’s Edition Blu-ray set including contents not previously released in any English speaking territory before the end of 2020* (*subject to change).

Stay tuned for more details on this as we can share them!

Blood-C TV series

Synopsis: A peaceful countryside village on a lake shore. Klutzy but good-hearted Saya has been living there as far as she can remember, and has never seen the outside world. This doesn’t really seem to bother her, as she stays with her caring and beloved father, and all her classmates and the teacher at school are so nice and friendly. But Saya’s eventless daylight life abruptly shifts into pure mayhem at night as she skillfully wields her sword to confront the Elder Bairns, creatures featuring the most diverse shapes, but with one thing in common -they feed on humans.

After each victorious battle she returns back home drenched in blood, yet the following morning everything starts again as nothing had happened -a nice cup of coffee and some delicious guimauves at the local café, her cheerful classmates at school… Then, small cracks start appearing on the surface of this abnormal normality, as an Elder Bairn speaks to her puzzling words she can’t make sense of. As Saya is apparently unable to connect the events occurring around her, she can’t possibly imagine that the real horror has yet to be unveiled…

Year of original television broadcast: 2011

Blood-C: The Last Dark

SynopsisTokyo, winter.
Following the enforcement of the new Youth Protection Act, minors are forbidden to circulate in the streets after 9PM and the use of the Internet is regulated. However, young people continue to fight underground for their own freedom.

A group called Sirrut, in particular, has declared war on Fumito Nanahara, a man whose great influence at both political and economic level has virtually made him the ruler of Tokyo.

The Sirrut fight their war with the weapon they know best: Internet. And while searching for more information about their enemy in the cyberspace, they come across a number of urban legends referring to the existence of the “Tower,” a mysterious organization behind Fumito that is rumored to be conducting experiments involving human beings, and alluding to people being… eaten.

Determined to expose the truth, the Sirrut members start investigating. But as they are in the subway following a lead, a monstrous creature appeared from nowhere starts attacking the passengers. As panic and mayhem spread, one girl stands firmly in front of that living nightmare, a Japanese sword in her hand, her eyes as cold as ice…

Director: Naoyoshi Shiotani (Psycho-Pass, Tokyo Marble Chocolate)

Year of release in Japan: 2012

K SEASON 1

From GoHands, the studio that brought you the cyberpunk anime film series Mardock Scramble, and the enigmatic writers’ collective GoRA Project comes the first season of K, the original anime series that kicked off the franchise back in 2012.

K Season 1 synopsis: Set in a world where history has taken a slightly different course from the one we’re familiar with, K follows the story of a young boy whose life is caught in a psychic war between seven kings. Yashiro Isana, also known as Shiro, is wanted for a crime he has no recollection of committing.

He finds himself being hunted by the groups HOMRA, led by Mikoto Suoh, “The Red King,” and SCEPTER 4, led by Reisi Munakata, “The Blue King.” While on the run, a young man named Kuroh Yatogami helps him. This fated encounter will change Shiro’s life forever.

After being out-of-print in the UK fo a very long time, we’re delighted to finally be able to offer fans the chance to see, let alone add, the first series to their collections, following our releases of the follow up film, K: Missing Kings, then the series K: Returns of Kings that serves as the third chapter in the story.

And don’t forget that (as announced during our AllTheAnime panel as part of our Cloud Matsuri online event a few months ago,) we’ll also be releasing most recent instalment of the franchise, K: Seven Stories, on home video in the near future as well. We (Anime Limited/AllTheAnime) are excited to be the home of the K franchise here in the UK!

In keeping with our releases of Missing Kings and Returns of Kings, at this stage we can confirm our home video release of K Season 1 will be a Collector’s Edition Blu-ray set, with this tentatively being planned to be available before the end of this year, 2020* (*subject to change.)
