Uzaki Chan Wants To Hang Out started out as a manga, and things went nuts.
It all began when Uzaki was used as marketing for Japan’s bloodrive campaign, and US twitter went bonkers because she was “too sexy” and her tiddies too big.
Fast forward after having Uzaki Chan adapted into an anime, which did well despite controversy, the manga is doing REALLY well.
So well that it’s sold 1.5 million copies of the manga to date.

“Speaking of which, I was told the day before yesterday, but it seems that Uzaki Volumes 1 to 5 have exceeded 1.5 million copies. Thank you to everyone who bought it!”
While there are no exact figures as far as global sales, if any, the franchise is doing well.
The controversy likely helped with its publicity. Turning into money down the line.
